Well thanks to Judi and getting the tickets for the sale from her I will be earning a lot of extra points on my gymboree visa this month! I had my 7.5 year old daughter with me and it really was an awesome experience for us. We live pretty close to AGPC and go every other month or so, but this was like something we've never seen. Everyone was very friendly, granted it was only 8:15 and not that hot out yet.

My only dissapointment was going for the Molly bike. As we walked up to the table someone was getting the last one. Maybe it was the lack of sleep, but I felt like crying. My girl has been wanting one of those for so long. Oh well, we surely made up for it. The prices on the big girls clothes were amazing, we got 4 outfits for my daughter, a new bitty, a new today doll, a today doll bike, Kit's bed, the trundle bed, violin, flute, 6 doll outfits, books galore, grin pins, 2 mini dolls, some items for a neighbor and I'm sure there were some other things, but I can't remember right now. It was really nice meeting Judi and her daughter is a real doll.

Wow, all this REALLY makes me want to go next year!!

I wanted to go this year, but just couldn't make it.

Dianasmama, maybe we could carpool next year, if we plan it far enough in advance.....

Alicia - it was nice meeting you, too. Your DD is a real cutie. She looked pretty refreshed in the check out line. We saw you checking out while we were still waiting to check out. Sorry about Molly's bike.

I am home now, and exhausted. I was in the 11:00 section. The credit card machines had problems and the back-up was up to hour late when I got in.

During the backup, however, no one was actually shopping instead, they were just in line waiting. So, it was not like those people got heaps of extra time in the sale.

Yes, it was frustrating that they didn't have free water- but, it was a warehouse. It didn't appear that there was a potable water connection. Many people brought water and I think that in general, bringing water to a hot place on a hot day calls for water.

I did have fun and got some great deals. I picked up Kit's bed for $25 bucks in my frenzy, only to realize I have nowhere to put it! If anyone is interested in buying this bed at the price I paid for it, just let me know.

Kit's Bed was $30 when I bought it. You got a better deal! There was also free water at the sale in several spots when I was in line. It was in water cooler type containers with paper cups. I was leaving about 11:15 to pick up my van and drive to the pick up location, and I saw people going to the sale. I was glad I was done at that time because the heat was really picking up!

I was feeling so hot and exhausted after the sale, , when I went to pick up my son. My sons age 16 and 20 were helping my husband build a retaining wall with boulders (really big boulders!)while I was at the warehouse sale. Darn, they really stole my thunder about the heat and being exhausted. I was shopping and they were building a boulder wall, LOL, sweating their pants off.

I didn't get to go this year, so of course, now I'm just dieing to hear all the news!

How was the weather, how hot was it?

    How were the crowds?

What was your most treasured item to find?

    Did you get it?

What do you think were the best values?

How was the organization this year? Did the lines move smoothly if not even quickly?

Was large item pick up organized?

Did you go back in with 2nd or 3rd entry times?

Are you going back on Sunday?

Did you get to see and meet other Hostboard members? heehee.....did they look like you thought they would?

Wow! I hope some of you that went took your laptops and can answer tonight, we're all looking forward to hearing back from you!

    GO MCM SHOPPERS GO!

We went, but we're still in Wisconsin. There were so many AGT and Coconut retired things! I went a bit crazy with the AGT outfits, but I couldn't resist, there was the retired Birthday Outfit for $22, Karaoke Outfit for $22, red and teal-ish nightshirts, and so many other things! I got Felicity's retired Guitar for $15! What a steal! I also got AGT 14- Brooke Penelope (my avatar). Our tickets were for 8:00 AM, and were out of there before 10:00 AM. I'll post a list of what I got when I come back on Sunday, probably on Monday since we won't be getting back until around 11:00 PM tomorrow. I plan to go to the Oshkosh Outlet today, and my mom really wants to go to see Frank Lyod Wright's house about two hours away. My mom and I will probably go for the Silent Auction tomorrow morning, and that'll be it.

Yes, isn't it awful about the heat! It was really bad last year, and none of us had thought to take in water, plus we were operating on almost NO sleep from the night before. I just about passed out from the heat when we were trying to pack the car, so then I needed a break to at least go get some bottled water for all of us from the outside vendor table. I wasn't much help in packing after that.

I really envy all of you that live closer to the sale and can drive in that day and drive home that night. heehee, but I'd only want to live there during sale time, the rest of the time, I'll stick to my new house in NC!

Well, I talked with a great friend from the board last night and was still able to get a few sale goodies, so I'm a happy girl right now, and Diana will be especially happy at Christmas! Think girl sized chocolate cherry cheetah dress, Samantha coat, and Bitty Twin stroller, you HB members ROCK! Thanks again to you both!

    Laurie

ps...Robyn in Matthews, a carpool sounds great, except that I'll probably take Diana too and meet up with a friend and her daughter from Ohio, that would not leave us any room for goodies from the sale....bummer!
